Look out England, here we come!

Air Canada flight 888 left Ottawa on time and soon we were winging our way out over the Atlantic and onto the UK.  As flights go it was it was uneventful, which I suppose is a good thing & hopefully a sign of things to come.  As somewhat expected, they put us into a holding pattern over the English countryside due the to volume of flights trying to land at Heathrow.  This gave us all a good chance to take some pics and admire the scenery.  Our final approach was from the East, directly over London, which gave us a great view of the city centre and the landmarks we were hoping to visit.

On the ground, we managed to navigate Terminal 3 without much fuss and were soon on our way down into the depths of the building heading toward the "Tube" station.  Taking the Piccadilly line through London seemed slow, hot and crowded.  Eventually we made it to Liverpool St. where we boarded a train that took us to Broxbourne just north of the city.  This will be our base for the next few days as we venture into and out of the city sightseeing.

Sleep came quickly. I know we should have all tried to push into the evening as long as we could to minimize the effects of jet lag, but we all ended up taking a short nap.  Barb & I popped out to get some Chinese takeaway for dinner which was a hit and then we settled in to watch Top Gear.  What could be more British on a Sunday evening?
