Day 17 - Lairg & Inverness

The day started with Barb and myself taking a drive into the heart of Sutherland county to visit the village of Lairg.  Lairg was the birthplace of Barb's GGGF, James Orr.  James came to Canada in the mid-1800's along with most of his family.  Therefore, Lairg was the last place in Scotland that this branch of the Orr family lived before coming to the "New World".  Here is a picture of Lairg in the valley.

Driving back to Inverness,  we paused to take a few pictures of the area.

We spent the afternoon in the town of Inverness doing some shopping. Here is a picture of Inverness castle and the river Ness.
