Day 8 - Into Devon

Sunday started with a short drive the Abbotsbury where we stopped for a walk along a short stretch of the immense Chesil Beach.  Just to prove that nothing's free anymore, they now charge £4 to park the car here!  We spent about an hour watching the local folks fishing from the shore and looking for the odd seashell amongst the billions of pebbles on the beach.

Returning to the car we took the road along the coast westward.  We stopped briefly for a fabulous view back along Chesil Beach to Weymouth.

The drive into Devon was mostly uneventful as we stayed mainly on the larger A30 until past Exeter where we took the coastal road through Dawlish and Teignmouth on our way to Torquay.  We stopped at the Babbacombe miniature village for the afternoon and enjoyed the various scenes depicted and the sunshine before also enjoying a lovely Devonshire Ice Cream with chocolate flake.

We ended the afternoon stopping at my Aunt Sally's where we're staying for the next couple of nights while we tour about Southern Devon.
